I always liked the Edsels, too bad they got such a bad reception when they came out. Of course the name didn't necessarily help :D

Nothing to be seen in the picture of the newer cars. Maybe the BMW of whatever version on the LHS facing us?

Would these be the daily cars being driven back in 1990? That was when Misery was released.

Toyota is a Corolla Liftback, also referenced as a Corolla Deluxe Sports Coupe of the early 1980's.

The MB could be a 280/380/350/450/500 and if it is 1990 even a 560!

The American car's I have little idea, and to be honest none are of interest to me. I drove a large wagon like the Taxi on the left in the late 1980's. Probably one of the worst and most abused cars I have ever driven. It belonged to a company I was working for in Manteca outside San Francisco. It was their car pool hack. I don't think it was ever serviced. They wanted me and my buddy to drive it to San Diego to do some business with a supplier. We both roundly refused to drive it there and then back. Mind you the Colt coupe they gave us instead was only better in the size and gas mileage. Not sure which dumpster they dragged it out of!!

There was not much joy in the car world in 1980s. American cars tended to still be large bodies and engines, with emission controls choking the power. Import cars were still mostly from Japan and mostly basic econoboxes.

It was indeed, the anthesis of the verdant and élan eras that proceeded it.

They at least tried new stuff in the 1970s, but the 80s were all Pillsbury white bread and artificial cheese, with margarine

That looks like a Cadillac emblem on the front and wheels and bumpers have a certain caddy look. Late 1950s?
