It's that way in Seattle, in neighborhoods. Denver = no, as a rule, although I've seen a bit lately.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

Man if I had to write here everytime I spotted a Volvo. It's perhaps the most common brand here on the roads. Typically a Volvo V70 is the most common car, followed by other brands of wagons.

Unless it has changed, you could park on either side of the street in the UK. Lots of one way streets in cities so parking all in one direction on those!

Ah, the Volvo 440. One of 2 Volvo's my parents returned to Volvo after buying new. The other was a 1980? Volvo 340DL. 440 was returned due to electrical issues (the door mirrors had a habit of going on fire) and the 340 due to paint flaking off within a year.

They changed the law in Finland I dunno if it was 2022 or 2023 or thereabouts so you can now park on both sides of the street regardless of direction. This wasn't allowed before.

So you can pull out of your parking space facing oncoming traffic ? I can't see a problem with that...

Around here, it has become common practice to turn across oncoming traffic to angle park on the other side of the street. This is done on downtown, two lanes each direction streets. You almost need to look both directions before backing out of a parking spot. It makes me crazy. Police don't care.

I’m in inner Baltimore for a while - errands, groceries, daycare drop offs, etc.

Red lights are only a suggestion.
Yellow lights - pfft..
Jumping the red light by 20 seconds? No problem.
“Blocking the box” in a big urban intersection, on purpose? Normal.
Passing a left turning car on the right at full speed with people in the crosswalk? “Where are you from?”
Turn signals on the freeway or giving room to mergers are for chumps.

Double parking out into the street is not only normal, but triple parking blocking lanes is common. They have other fish to fry.

Well yeah, you have to be more careful about traffic and check both directions in order to get out. I don't know if it has resulted in more crashes or not, most people tend to be decent enough drivers.

But I think culture matters, like in this country, if you see a red light in the night on an empty road, people will stop and wait.

Yep. Driving ability is a big factor. I think they require more actual skill at driving to even get a license over in your neck of the woods.
Here, on the other hand, they pretty much just give them out when you turn 16. Hence the profound confusion when they encounter a
roundabout. Still, parking that way is just another example of the breakdown of our societies !
