In my statement that set him off, I said good condition. Some people cannot grasp the role condition has on price. Like the guy that has a rusted out X car and thinks it will fetch the price of a fully restored X car or a original in mint condition.

Oh for sure. Good condition will certainly drive the price up, and people are willing to pay.

The Temple Hills bids may be in-house; a couple of the principles at the auction house operate a used car lot in DC adjacent to their main building.
The other bids look to be genuine. If the house really wants it, they normally snipe at the end.
As I mentioned before, some of the charities have become very hands-on for their donations, and come up with their own ideas about value, and like many things these days, not always anchored in reality.
