As xanthefin says, the smaller box is the immobilizer box (the one on the side of the steering column) is correctly labelled as you show in your picture. The other box is the one that controls the key fob and door locks.

I sure hope you are right, I miss driving her very much. Haven't heard from the indie, but that's ok, I'm buying time until you are ready.

The car is still sitting, but the plan is to transplant the ECU, Immobilizer, Instrument cluster along with the keys from Jane Bond (2000 V70). In preparation I removed the chip from one Matilda's keys today. That way the original chip won't interfere with Jane's. For testing I will just tape the new key next to the antenna ring.

I want fix my record straight as i been wrong in one thing.

I been saying here that VGLA is led output between IMMO3 module.. well okay with that but they use K line additionally i belief because i found hard evidence both side that there is.. coding between IMMO3 and VGLA modules. And i can pin point on both modules exactly where they are in memory.

But not on all when i compared now my IMMO3 modules what i have personally.. i found example only on 2004 year C70 IMMO3.

So i apologize my lack of knowledge. :(

Hello Xan,

Thanks for the update, although this language is way over my head

Hey, don't you want to come to New England for a little vacation? And, oh, while you are here would you not mind to see what's wrong with Matilda? :D :D

I got another chance to take a look at this last weekend and changed out the fuel pump for good measure, to see if this car might start. A big Thank You to Abscate for providing the pump. It made no difference of course. Just to recap, it's a no crank situation trying to start with the key, and the fuel pump is also not priming.
When I pulled the old pump out I found an additional black cable attached to the connector, which goes out an opening in the sheet metal behind the pump and dissapears under the car. There is no grommet or anything and it looks like someone added this, and I am wondering if it has something to do with my problem. Next step is to see where it is connected on the other side. But also I am wondering if anyone else has seen this before:

A while back Mr Abscate suggested connecting power to the Remote Starter connector to see if it will crank. So I fabricated a harness with a switch, and it works well. I had him on the line on the weekend and he suggested to spray some ether into the intake snorkel to see if it has spark. So I did that and the engine coughed nicely.
So it has spark and no fuel, but although I don't hear any priming from the pump I guess I should verify with a pressure gauge.

Thanks, Dirk

Interesting. No idea what that black wire is. Could it be that issue has been there for a long time and someone ran a direct feed to the pump from a live source somewhere else in the harness to bypass the immobiliser?

Thanks Neil, that's an interesting thought. I didn't think about am immo bypass. Clearly a PO had a problem with something since it is sort of a hack job. Although it's neatly done I must say.
Next chance I get is crawling under the car and see where that wire goes but that might take a while again.
