Get a box or two of "OPK12 Rubber Vacuum Cap Assortment (90 Pcs / 6 Sizes)" on Amazon, they are very handy for plugging all kinds of holes, like in PS pump or transmission heat exchanger hoses.

Thanks again to everyone for the tips.
@vtl--Thanks for confirming the ability to do this and keep AC intact. I studied both of your pics in detail--very helpful to see what you did. Also ordered the vacuum plugs--that will keep the garage a bit cleaner no doubt!
@abscate--clearing the metal is going to be a challenge. I have a good Makita recip saw and lots of blades and batteries along with long prybars and a big ol' hammer so while it won't be pretty, it will get done.
Finally...here's this morning's weather in my backyard. Thankfully no snow, just bloody cold. Hey, if anyone near Boise wants to come out and play give me a shout...could use the company...

You're on track and received Odin's blessing! I did that in cold December as well
Both wagons would not fit in garage, and for some things I needed them face to face, so often had to work with the garage door opened and snow blowing in my face.

^^^ yowch!
VolvoDJ - I have some sawzall blades that will cut through anything - hardened steel, whatever. I was amazed when I tried them.
Diablo brand "Steel Demon." 8 TPI. "6" extreme metal cutting" "Carbide tipped for thick metal cutting."
They're bright red.

Wow, @vtl...that's amazing. Pretty sure if I attempted that they'd find me like Jack Nicholson at the end of The Shining...
@BlackBart--I just picked up a pack of those yesterday. You're right, they're amazing.
Okay...so I waited until the temp got above 20 to start. Can't attach pictures for some reason, but will update when I get home. Just about cleared on the front, going to pull axles next and then head underneath. So far, so good...
