Is a used Volvo 850 a good choice?

Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.

Yes, the '94 does have the self diagnosing boxes under the hood. :D

I missed this before. When you say 'city' I'm assuming you are talking about getting the car on the freeway sometimes.

If the motor never overheats and is well maintained it should be good for 400,000k and beyond. Don't know about the tranny but they seem to be pretty durable. The Volvo's have excellent corrosion protection ( except for underneath the moonroof seal...hehe, just saw Matt's picture on the S70 moonroof doesn't close tight thread ).

Anyway, not sure if I answered that question... :?
