Is there any way to service the motor where the tooth has broken?

I recall that someone tried to superglue the tooth back on but I don't think it worked.

You can try a trick from the Guitar technician repertoire, remove the gear if you can, and fill the space for the tooth with baking powder and then hit it with a few drops of superglue. When it's dry you should be able to file it into shape with a triangular needle file.
