I've put the Hepu water pumps in all of mine except the Platinum which I have not changed yet (Spring will come again so that my hands aren't icicles while working in the driveway won't it?). So far they have worked fine but I've only put 30 or 40 k on the oldest of them. The Hepu pumps are $20.00 or so cheaper than the Aisin and about half the price of OEM. The only water pump I have had issues with was the OEM but that was at 210k miles. Nothing lasts forever.
If there is a place to cheap out the water pump is it in my opinion.

On the '94 they are fine. On my son's '96 N/A - while he is off at college I have no idea. His old arms lifted at about 1/3 of the wipe prior to changing them and he is not prone to griping a lot - particularly after I just paid tuition <gasp-thud>.Ozark how are those scan tech wiper arms holding up?
On the Platinum they have been OK but the fancy $35.00ish a pair Anco blades crapped out after after 2 months so I just went back with the old style blades.
We are only a few months into the Scan Tech experiment though so don't take this as definitive.

I remember on some of my older cars i could loosen the distributer and turn it a little to adjust the timing (I think that's what it was doing). How do you do that on cars with coil-packs?
and what's your opinion on this?

I think you'll be okay with those parts...the INA was the problematic part that FCPG was selling but they've been through a redesign...if the casing is still off, you can just use the pulley and put it on the old casing.
As far as the timing, it is set once you get the belt on correctly but by turning exhaust and intake gears slightly at the cam gears, you can adjust this and requires a cam gear adjustment disc like the one sold here: http://www.quickbrickmotorsports.com/prod_camtool.html On second thought without knowing much about your '99 that has a VVT (variable valve timing) engine, I'd be afraid to mess with it, personally.

Yeah I bought some blades that were "lifetime warrantied" you just call them and they send you new ones, my replacements should be here in a week. Their brand is "TriplEdge" and they say they are made with silicone. Although I'm thinking it might not be the blades but the arms themselves, so I was thinking of replacing the arms. I'll test out the new blades and possibly get new arms. I wish there was a rebuild kit that just sold the springs.Ozark Lee wrote:On the '94 they are fine. When I bent the arm the blades performed nicely so with new arms and new blades I should be all set.
