Converting to turbo?

A complete turbo longblock is under $200 from wrecking yards all over the place. That solves the problems of the valves, the oil feed and oil return, the hard water pipe behind the block, the throttle body (it's a smaller diameter on the turbo), and the rods.=

At 4 of my local yards, a long block is normally $179. On the half price days, which they do once a month, it will cost you about $90 + $45 core for a complete long block. They always have several 850 Turbos to choose from.

Yeah, this is a very regional thing. East coast and west coast you can get one pretty cheap, most other places it will take some searching and for sure more $$ to come up with something acceptable.

ah yes, the pick'n'pull. unfortunately i find very few P80 cars there, and i've never seen a turbo.

but you're right - if i find a 99+ turbo at a pick'n'pull here, my line is the line for the hoist on half-off day.
