I realize that now...this is my first automatic, so I always figured it worked differently. I remember my wheels spinning backwards in neutral, but I never tried it in park. The other times, I always had one of the wheels chocked so they weren't spinning.

Sorry for telling you something was wrong that isn't

I haven't ordered yet; were those axles new OEM or remaned? I was thinking about calling them too, but figured I'd get the same price for OEM as all the dealers I had called (about $450 per axle).

I've already spoken to the guy at Axles Unlimited and told him I'd probably be ordering soon. He was very nice (just as nice as Marty from Raxles, haha).

The remaned Cardone ones from Duralast are a POS, but the brand new Cardone Select are very nice actually. We just finished putting one on my passenger side. Now it matches the drivers side that we did last month. This time we unbolted the A-arm instead of prying loose the ball joint. It was easier, but it seems we always have to deal with a stuck bolt or two. Couldn't get the lower sway bar bolt this time, so I guess we'll replace those next week when we have a better impact driver or something.

You might just wanna do both sides while your at it and definately replace the balljoints while you have everything apart.
I would also check your sway bar/sway bar links/sway bar bushings also. I just did front axles on my other vehicle(Maxima) , the lower ball joints , sway bar link/bushings/washers/nuts and strut mounts. Good wrenching, Shiloh.

I'm definitely doing both. I feel like it's one of those things that should be done in pairs.

I'm on a budget though and although I like to replace things maybe a little before needed, I think I'll hold off on this one and just do what's necessary... at least until September when I start getting paid again!

Just called Erie, for two axles with shipping included = $250! But they are not remaned or anything, they are simply used off of another car which I don't know if I want. He said any axle would be "good condition off a vehicle with less than 100,000 miles".

$100 bucks more for new remanufactured OEM? Or $100 less for used OEM?

I'm kinda leaning toward getting new remaned. I don't want any problems down the road...

Get the remanufactured one.

Don't get used parts for a constant wear item unless you want to do it again.

Exactly my thinking. I want the save the money, but I figure it's a "pay me now, or pay me later" sort of situation.
