Actually, the blue does add a good effect, I'll admit that, but the lower part warmed it up a bit too much from here. Have you ever played around with all of the filters in Photoshop? I used the "plastic wrap" and "emboss" features on a map just last week; it made certain layers stand out with an AWESOME 3D effect.

(BTW, each monitor will display that photo differently. If you get serious or semi-serious, calibrators are really cheap these days.)
