Update:
To date 2 tanks of fuel and mileage has increased to 27.6 and a flat 28 do an average increase of 2.8 mpg.
So I have to say this made a hell of a difference not only in the fuel mileage but the performance as well. The car drives like a whole new car, I stepped on it in traffic and actually broke the front tires loose!!
I used a plug from an old swimming pool of all things to keep the door open, one of those things I threw on the work bench a couple years ago and it proved it's worth.
I think one of those new Nylon wine corks cut down would work perfectly to do this modification, you could cut to an exact fit. It would be kinda fun drinking the wine too!!
