But he said he has no clunking/creaking when driving.jblackburn wrote:Mine rotates right around and squeaks just like that...it was just from a crappy cell phone camera I had 4 years ago.
Not to mention the rattling was driving me bonkers.

Just an update that today the sound was pretty much gone! However, I did order new spring seats and strut mounts from FCP. I ordered the OEM (Sachs) ones. I believe that is what the original parts are right?
I wont be doing the repair for another week to 10 days but I will post back with photos of what the actual culprit was for future reference.

I'm not sure what FCP sells but you need to be careful
It's a PIA job to do and you don't want to do it again in 6 months.
I'm not sure who makes them for Volvo but these are not items that you want to use aftermarket parts for

Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP

FCP lists Sachs as the OEM although I can't know for sure. FWIW when I redid my front end, I ordered Sachs everything except the sway bars, those were Meyle's HD version. My original struts on the car were Sachs "Made in France". My strut mount was too old to read anything on it. Meyle is aftermarket but used by a lot of BMW guys, and the $30 savings a side was worth the risk.
