I have tried to contact some of these sellers to see who would ship faster then "14 days after cleared payment" and "regular international" which means one full moon  (they take the word ship literally)
And to ease my misery the entire China is closed for 3 or maybe more days for Labor-Day which is May the 1st.

While waiting for DHL cargo to land, I did some reading AND testing with the fuses;

I pulled out the Throttle fuse and started the engine. The engine light lit up and I got the oscillating idle. (and a useless pedal, the RPM would not go up)
I put that back and pulled out the MAF fuse. The engine light was not there but the idle was oscillating again.
Does this mean that MAF sensor is culprit?

So, the car runs the same with or without the Maff sensor plugged in?
If this is the case you Maff sensor could be bad..

In saying that I had a bad Maff sensor on my 2001 xc, and it was throwing a code..
Something about Maff below threshold I believe..

I've never heard of a separate MAF fuse. If it powers any other engine related items this test has no value. J

ust try unplugging the MAF to be certain that no other component is affected.

Thanks, I'll do that tomorrow.
And BTW the Dice was delivered this afternoon. I installed the software on a laptop with Win XP SP3. But it didn't work, it says not enough RAM! I have 2 GB installed. Neither would it install on my desktop (XP SP3 4GB) "encountered some problems". Same thing when I tried my daughter's laptop (Win 7).
So I hope I can find a memory somewhere to fix the problem.

PS
Fuse #6 for MAF #7 for TB in the engine compartment.

precopster, you were right regarding the MAF. I did pull the wire on the sensor, the engine starts then dies.
As for the Dice Vida, I finally installed it on the computer.
I plugged it to the car and voila; it reads and identifies the car but the "Diagnostic" tab doesn't work.
It is gray, stays gray and regardless of how I hit on it, it doesn't come to life.
All other tabs are OK

In vehicle selection choose scanning tool from the drop down list. The orange light on the Dice unit should flash.

When selecting vehicle are you scanning for it by choosing Read Vehicle or typing in the VIN?

It scans and report my car, VIN and all that, but the diagnostics tab stays gray, and I can't click on it! I mean I click but nothing happens.
