I purchased a 99 S70 with 120k miles in January clueless about the in-s and out-s with these rides. I tend to agree with Robert when it comes to value and this is for any vehicle, not just Volvo.

It's simple: car doesn't run, 500 is max.

Since the S70 I purchased has low mileage, no leaks, etc., I was willing to bite the bullet in the short term by investing a few more racks to ensure a dependable car. I plan on keeping, while at the same time, hone in on improving mechanical aptitude and skills.

On a different note, coming across this friendly and helpful website only made me want to do so more.
That $500 is spot on.

These cars are so forgiving. I agree, I've been able to develop a lot of skills with it and with the wealth of knowledge here. How these cars are priced sometimes is really mind-boggling though. I know Platinums, Turbos, Rs, and T5s should command a premium. But there are folk around here who want $3K for an N/A. It's kind of ridiculous. I think $1500 is a fair price for a P80 in tip top shape. These are 20 yr-old cars... But then again, what these cars are worth, what folks are willing to pay and what the insurance companies value these cars at is a little all over the place. Ours is Stage 0 but the KBB value of it is $700.
True value when prices are dispersed is subjective. Eye of the beholder

nice

You can buy mine but it will cost you.
30,000 original miles, ALL the work relating to 30K miles AND 17 years has just been done, (approx. $4K worth of wholesale work!)
The "list" is too long to post here but this may be the best S70 on the planet!

Hop in and drive it to CA, it would be one of the nicest drives you would ever have!

The majority of the pictures are from last fall, the ones with the Volans and the R bumper is the way it sits now.

 Beautiful car there, JRL. If there were a DROOL emoji, you'd definitely get one from me!

I'm completely speculating here, but I think in NYC, I think you could value that S70 at $6000 and get a $5000+ offer from one of the P80 addicts around here who don't know how to wrench on his/her car.

Nothing is free in life, the money is taken in more appetite friendly methods. .....is the rest of Buffalo worth the trip? Last time I was in Buffalo, over 10yrs ago it was desolate to say the least. When our dollar was high, it was worth the shopping experience.

However, you guys have the warm south which I envy in winter, beautiful Arizona, sunshine Florida.... I don't understand why the prices are so low still, its some beautiful god country there..... ahhh. Our version of temperate winters is Vancouver but it rains too much and nobody can afford a house anymore.

Buffalo is one of the warmest, people friendly towns in the US. If you slide off the road, you wait 5 minutes before someone stops, pulls out their chain, pulls you out of the ditch, and refuses money to help.

The 10 year storms are what people remember for climate - its usually decent for Northeast.

Cost of living stupefyingly cheap.

Warm climates in US - great to visit, but too much weather, bugs, and NYers retired there to enjoy.

I do agree there, they are very friendly. Not sure how much of that was due to the money Canadians bring but I felt it was genuine.
I don't envy the snow they get, I tell people here never to complain; there are places like Buffalo that are much worst.

True about the NYers in the south, I think one can only take so much hustle and bustle in your life and then the move way south.
