1996 854 ECC top vent problems

No more blinking lights!!!!

It was not an electrical problem as suggested by the multiple error codes. All 4 damper motors were maxed out in their position or the vent was jammed.

Today I removed all 4 motors, one at a time, placed the motor in the middle of the travel range after cleaning out the grease. Then put them back on the air unit making sure the baffles were also in the middle of their range of travel.

I put the ECC in Mode 4 and keyed in 9-9-9, selected Auto for the vent position, put the fan in a run position and started the engine. After taking a 2 mile run above 20mph and letting the car sit with the key in position I for two minutes, the lights were out on restart - NO CODES.

Someone else went through the ECC before, a screw was missing on the passenger vent motor.
