just posting an update, at the end I went with original design and got oilite bushes installed back in by an engineering shop as I couldn't wait. You should be able to order some from here
https://www.bowman.co.uk/bearings/oilit ... n-bearings
you'd need one flanged and one plain
2008 xc90 V8 - slow start
The dimensions on mine are bad. So i'm not sure what is a new good one should be like but this is a starting point i guess.
There're 2 in total, a flanged one located in the cap, and a cylindrical one
Flanged dimensions -- this one was in slightly better condition
OD 11.49mm
ID 8.28mm << this is WORN
Height to Flanged bits 7.53mm
Total Height including flange 9.05mm
Cylindrical
OD 11mm
ID 8.57mm << WORN AF also tapped to pull this one out
Height 11.39mm

Can somebody share the parts numbers of the oilite bushes or help how to order them?
I was at the http://oilite.com/ and they are asking a lot of things that I really don't know
Material
Inner Dimension Nominal ID Minimum and Maximum
Outer Dimension Nominal ID Minimum and Maximum
RPM
Load
etc, etc, etc
I want to order these and take them to my mechanic.
Thx for your time and help

Hey Guys,
I use to have the same Slow Crank problem but then it got worse so I decide to fix it.
In my case, it was the Brush plate.
Taking out the starter motor, installing new brush plate and then put back the starter motor cost me US $ 75.00
I have an 2008 XC90 3.2 AWD. Removing the starter motor was a piece of cake. The guy remove it in less than 10 minutes.
Here some pics

Hello
I had the same problem, got a private Electrican into look at the problem, the starter motor was sticking occasionally, thus drawing the currEnt from the battery , yet the battery was on, ended up having a reconditioned darter motor fitted , no probkk look ems since

I have the similar issue recently, had replaced a used starter motor didn't really help. then swapped lithium battery seems solve the issue most of time. starting crank felt powerful with lithium battery and just sometime it crank slightly longer but will start.

Writing is on the wall for a starter refurb or replace, more kick on the battery amperage will make the motor spin better to be sure. I have two V8s with more or less matching "newish" batteries (800+ AGM). My '06 Ocean Race starter spins right up, my '08 Sport seems to have a bit of a struggle. I bought a used starter some time ago with the intention to rebuild but it was more trouble than it was worth, so I have a new starter in a box on the shelf of my garage to be installed in the Sport. Old post with some additional information here (with continuation of the KiwiV8 observations)- https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/v8-s ... wn.591495/ and I’ll likely post some photos when I swap mine out.
