Bravo Zulu and change that relay out!
However, whenever I jump some electrical component, I always use an in-line because of the "feel-good" factor lol..
I do too!! When I make up a test jumper (the electrical kind, not the building kind) I put an inline fuse since it is easy to brush ground with 12V and start some sparks.
