I never inferred that it was low quality, the wiring simply gets torn up from from the concrete-like icebergs that build up in the wheel wheels over the winter and then get violently ejected at some point. They don't come out softly or in little pieces.

Last Winter when we had a couple of warm days after that insane deep freeze I had ten warranty requests in one week. Of those where the owner sent the module in all of them had a single code for an open sensor circuit almost always up front. Only one was a rear, that area isn't as common as there's less action back there. When I see torn wiring it is almost always in areas with bad winter weather and heavy road salt use. Ontario and Quebec lead the list. East coast and the Midwest are after that.

Stripped bolts and wiring issues up north, not much of anything down south.

Rspi: the module on the 850 was replaced by Midwest already. No drilling holes for me.

I meant, per your previous post you said the sensor doesn't test open unless its smashed to bits. My sensor looks perfectly fine, I removed the rear rotor and even cleaned it. But my sensor is showing open, I cut the wire and tested directly to the sensor. The rear wiring has a very strong jacket.

I ordered a complete new rear sensor assembly for an unbelievable price of $20 shipped. I don't know how they make money at that price. We'll see how it works. The cheapest aftermarket from my local parts suppliers was $115. Ebay has its advantages.

Hey MechEng...did that cheap harness hold up? Still in use and working?
I too have gotten all to used to the constant illumination from the ABS light. I've fixed my own module. Now wondering if the sensors or wiring is at fault. They're all OEM and now 20yrs old.

Sorry for the delayed response, yes it did work, you can't go wrong at that price. It was a bit of a pain to feed the wire into the trunk.
