For $110! that's dealer price without getting the genuine Volvo filter. June

Yes it's very likely that the PCV system is to blame. It's a bit of a job if you decide to DIY, but well worth it in the end. Your engine will be QUITE happy. When I did my 98 S70, the difference was LITERALLY night and day. Good luck.
