I don't get it...it should do the opposite.
How accurate is your pressure gauge?
Try to prime the system few times...key in pos.II...wait 2 -3 seconds...back to pos.I and imediately again to pos.II...Do that 3-4 times and watch the pressure on gauge.

Here we go again. How about you pack up the smugness and read what I wrote, which is exactly what you peppered with .......’s and rewrote.
The pump WILL deliver 3 BAR because that’s what the pumps for these cars will deliver. If the pressure IN THE FUEL RAIL is different, then that’s NOT BEING CONTROLLED BY THE PUMP, or the pump has a fault. So pressure IN is going to be 3 bar, because that’s what the pump delivers. I never said it was static inside the fuel rail, but if the pump doesn’t deliver 3 bar, then something’s amiss.

Just to be clear here...
Are you saying that pump alone will make 3bar pressure?
If you simply put a pump in the jar or can with fuel and supply it with 12v source....and it will squirt the fuel with pressure of 3bar out of the feed line?
Is that what you're saying?

The Bosch fuel pumps supplied for the 850 has an operating pressure of 300 KPA, with a flow rate of 120 liters per hour. System pressure should be delivered from 50-60% of rated voltage.

I think I did - if you stick the pump inlet in a jar of fuel and turn it on, it'll spray out 120 liters of that fuel in an hour. So bring a big jar.
