I am back into the "what lightbulb did my Euro car burn out today" groove. The front side marker/parking light that requires the bumper to come off burned out and the LED side marker on the tail light that requires an entirely new lens burned out for the second time in three weeks.
I am now recalling my BMW wagon that burned out more light bulbs in one year than a Japanese car burns out in 10 or 20.
Does anyone else look at this list of topics with dread?

yep. Every other day "Should have bought the used Toyota Camry". Uggh.
My first sign of $$ was my $56 license plate holders that I bought on the way home from my impulsive purchase.
I didn't dare put them on my credit card because my wife would have screamed at the purchase of my "old grey mare".
Latest issue: Cabin fan making horrid noise if outside temp is <0*C, now "Anti-skid requires service" and ABS light is on,
and my ever present "low beam failure( with perfectly normal lights. I have had sets of halogen and now Xenon H55w and both lights work perfectly and still "low beam failure".) I'm going to get a new passenger wiring harness. What a PITA changing that low beam passenger light bulb. Needed my daughters little hands to turn it inside that small hole. (Of note I helped a lady in a car parts store parking lot in less than 5min. Subaru Outback great access to light bulb.
Glad were all feeling buyers remorse.
On the plus: Love the 2005 s60 2.5T AWD torque.
The seats are phenominal. Like my Barka Lounger on wheels. Great heat and AC.

If you drive a Volvo off a cliff you survive. If you have a Camry, you keep looking for a cliff off which to drive.

Abscate -LOL. I try to tell my kids not to dangle the preposition!
I'm trying to convince my wife that Volvo is the safest car.
She is not up for letting my daughter have it for her car when she is ready for one.
Esp with the ABS malfunctioning.

Just to clarify - I have no buyers remorse! I plan to sell the A4 with the new(ish) engine in the Spring. Rely on Betty. Trust in Betty.

I am sure the car stops perfectly well even with no ABS.
But I do recommend doing practice stops and swerves from time to time. Especially if you have some snow and ice and space.

If there's snow you really do want the abs. Otherwise you're just kidding yourself. Even with proper winter tyres. Sure you can stop but being able to steer while doing so is priceless (or rather the price of the car and perhaps whatever is in front of you..).EngineeringBloke wrote: ↑01 Feb 2019, 13:45 I am sure the car stops perfectly well even with no ABS.
