I have the same 2001 non serviceable type that I changed to the type like the other ones in your picture. Still have the code though. I have a timing belt kit ready for it as I have no service history on this car. Hopefully mine was just set a tooth off on the last belt service. Thank you for clarifying what steps you took to resolve the issue.

My pleasure. That was the story with mine - the Volvo dealer who last did a timing belt (et.al) on it prior to me buying it set the timing off. While I was in there trying to fix the p0014 I was also replacing all the seals on the front of the engine (and rear cam seals) so I had to re-time it anyway. I timed it several times, as I mentioned, and still managed to mis-time it. In contrast, the 2.5T’s I’ve done I’ve always had success the very first time so I can attest to the difficulty correctly timing a 2.4T.
