A new ETM will last 150k miles. The cheapest workaround is a used one from a junkyard, looking for a yellow label one with a later build date
This can be a $50 ETM, PLUS PERHAPS$150 for programming.
It is possible a used one will plug and play but not guaranteed. Matching part number doesn’t work as it is software that has to be matched too.
eBay sellers will falsely claim plug and play.
