Thanks, I was going to say this might be the end of the car it would be great to get one from you.
We can talk about a price. We were in a rush, and they're going to drop it off for a few days and
I'll just spray from the head down to the CAT and see what's going on. Pretty sure it's the manifold.

Very dumb of me!!!!!
I feared crawling under the car while it was up on ramps with the engine running but finally did
it and there was no sound coming from the manifold. It was clearly further back and it turned out
that when the welded the pipe to the back of the cat they did not line it up perfectly, but welded
the bottom completely and could not reach the top. They told me that they put patch on the top,
I said fine I'll fix it when it falls off. I did put a slit soup can around it with 2 hose clamps but that
tin metal was too stiff and there was still a gap.
Tried it again with aluminum flashing that certainly bent and shaped to the joint but it still didn't
seal it up. Finally, put steel stick high temp epoxy in there because one of the Youtube videos
said to use that stuff, then put the aluminum flashing over it. This fixed the leak.

Cleared the CEL code but it came back 3-4 days later.

Pete , band clamps are a magical 5 year repair on exhaust which also spare you from having to eat canned soup. They are about $15-20 on Amazon in 304 Ss

The windshield cracked and they got a quote from Safelight for about $260 that seems like a good deal.
Anything better, not DIY, we could do?

Where and how bad is the crack? If the crack is fairly small a good windshield shop can drill a small hole at the end of the crack and it will stop it spreading further. If it is all the way across the windshield then that compromises the strength of the car should it get in a roll-over accident as it supplies strength to the shell.

$260 is pretty good. We used to get them up here, in the windshield replacement capital of the world, for about $240 CDN. However, the manufacturer supply for older cars is reducing so most now are either old stock, or Chinese made. The price for the latter up here is now nearer $300 CDN or about $225 US. Doing it yourself, like most things, if you manage to cut one out successfully, is as good as you are at running a bead of sealant and refitting it. Then what is your warranty?

Thanks Neil, it is already 5" long, I think too much for a repair.
