What did you do to your Volvo today? Topic is solved
Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Replacing alternator. Just about got it all back together, hoping that was the problem. Jy alternator so we will see. 96 850 2.4
Changed the fuel pump and filter yesterday and I can't believe how much better the car is running. One of those items has been bad for over a year. The pump started making noise this week that couldn't be drowned out with the radio at normal levels.
The gas mileage is already higher than it's ever been since I bought it and the acceleration is amazing.
It's a great feeling when a repair makes a huge difference!

I was bored and figured I might as well yank it out!
I once got an entire Miata drivetrain swapped over from one car to another in 8 hours with two of my cousins. The day before, we pulled the engine and trans out of the donor car, then starting around 2:00 the next afternoon we yanked the bad engine and trans from my old Miata and got the donor engine/trans installed and running by 7:30. It was 28 degrees and we couldn't feel our hands by the end of it
My cousin bled the clutch the next morning and drove it over to my house. I wish I could get this S70 done that fast, but I need to wait until next week to pick up the engine.

Did some very uninteresting stuff, but very much needed

It was more than time to replace the belt

My interpretation of the belt tensioner tool

And then bought plastic boxes because the old cardboard box of parts was about to blow up

Finally replaced my dull passenger headlight, driver fender and driver door trim. Had to rig the wheel well since I dont have any of those nice volvo rivets. A fairly productive evening.
