I'd check it, but the glove box powered open function is buried 7 levels deep somewhere in the screen, and I can't remember where.

(Not that funny because Volvo has gone full-in on screens also.)

 So true though... I hate those things. I wouldn't be as mad about it if it was a more universal type of operating system (like Android or iOS) but with every manufacturer using a totally different interface, it's a pain to figure them out.

I've had have a Class-A rant boiling up toward the surface for months about Volvo doing this. It's going to be a bit of a literary Vesuvius/Pompeii piece regarding the blatant disregard for safety these things represent. Stay tuned and clear the zone.

You may be thinking some of the same things this guy says out loud. (and I agree with him, that's so aggravating!) But I see where they're really saving money by not needing to install normal knobs and switches and all the wiring. I suspect this all stems from the base Geely platform underneath.

But sheesh!...

Can't adjust the mirrors? Can't adjust the fan on the heater? Have to stare at the screen and find menus instead of steering?

Data point - In the "good old days" (mid-2000's?) Land Rover deliberately designed their knobs and switches to be operated while wearing gloves. I think it may have been Volvo switchgear, when they were in the same family under Ford.

It's SO anti-everything Volvo stood for for over a half-century. I don't give a toss if it saves money or if it's what everyone else is doing.

My tectonic plates are grinding.

All that money spent on turbos, nitrous, superchargers and you get torched by an EV, bought from Carmax

Reality must bite.
