Don't see them looking like this that often.
"Car is located in Armada Michigan zip code 48005. I can help with shipping the car.
For sale 1970 Volvo 1800E. Vin number 30802. Motor is a B20E (High Compression) w/ M410 4 speed manual transmission w/ electric overdrive. Color code 102 (Steel Blue).
Purchased from original owners family in spring of 2022. Motor has been completely rebuilt and bored. IPD parts used (double valve springs, street performance camshaft, high rev pushrod & cam kit, .040 oversized pistons, new timing gear set, new oil pump). Original fuel injection has been removed and brand new Weber 45DCOE carburetors have been fitted. The car is very fast. Has been previously repainted and in excellent condition. No rust, dents, or previous accidents. Comes with lots of documentation including original purchase receipt for the car.
Additional work/parts:
New stainless steel exhaust. New VTO wheels and tires. New suspension bushings. New steel braided brake hoses. New gas tank. New early style egg-crate grille insert. New windshield w/ new rubber & trim. Completely recovered dash using correct style dash pads. Front seats covered w/ new bottom seat foam. New interior upper door panels. New rubber seals for hood, trunk, doors, and quarter windows. New trunk board kit and rubber trunk floor mat. New hood insulation kit.
This is probably the best 1800 I’ve ever owned. It’s very well sorted and looks beautiful. Driving it is a blast and it will cruise comfortably well above posted speeds on the highway. For those that want a car that you can jump into immediately and enjoy this is it."

Very tidy. I would use the flipper word except a great deal of work has happened sine 2022.
Question - You know how they always say an 1800 will cruise along at 100 all day? But then a 122 is exhausting at freeway speeds?
Do they have completely different gearing, plus the overdrive?

From factory fuel injection to carbs... interesting decision. But hey, if it works. The ad says it's very fast after lots of engine work.

I've read that FI system was finicky, and now sensors and parts are hard to find. And not tuneable for major engine changes. But yeah, he probably liked the hot rod factor of Webers hanging off there.

I'm not a carburetor fan, but those early FI systems were pretty finicky. Carb swaps are common on older Volvos in general. Just like those awful K-jet cars. Easier to swap on a carb than try to get K-jet working smoothly lol.

C/L is an odd place for a high-end offering like this, given the localized nature of the platform, but easier to do than dealing with BaT.

RE: FI
My neighbor back in Seattle is who got us started on Volvo wagons. He was a fanatic preventative maintenance guy and his cars were in top shape. But he always moaned about his old 145E wagon, and how hard it was to keep tuned.

I don't know (a quick internet search did not tell me) what fuel injection system the 1970 1800 E used. The US spec Volvo 1975 245 used Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. This worked very well in all weather and elevations for my 1975 245. I never gave it any service other than filters.

Bendix-Bosch D-Jetronic.
So the E and the 1800 had high compression B20's and 130 hp. That isn't enough to make it cruise at high speed unless the gearing was different from the 122. I'm finding a 4.10 or a 4.56 axle for the 1800.
