Oh I have a car hoarder friend here who just bought a questionable 924! It apparently runs, but that's all I know.

I'd be surprised if 10% of 924 are still on the road. Anyone with taste and money who wanted front-engine bought the 944/944 Turbo/944S. Or 928. The 924 was more of an entry-level/European car that only predated the much faster 944 by a handful of years. It wasn't like the 924 had a long run before the 944 was introduced.

Thus, as the little brother to the 944, the 924s were neglected.

Interesting, my old Scirocco 1 had these ATS Cup wheels on it, and they look so similar to your first 924 pic. They were alloy though, and maybe knock-offs because I was in no position to be buying fancy wheels.

I look at the Ford Maverick as a set of four very cool steelies at a steep $6k each, but you get a modern compact utility truck thingy also.

I'm thinking custom-ordered steelies, in a Ford / Volvo bolt pattern (?), chrome trim rings, and he / she somehow figured out how to attach old 140 hubcaps in there! Pretty tasty.

Wait...is that old Alfas that have the Ford bolt pattern? I'm just assuming a specific Volvo pattern might not be available in these wheels.
