1999 V70 First timing belt install-mechanical tensioner

Just in case you are missing this step.... I always have to relieve the tension-er tension by using my long L allen 6mm wrench to apply pressure against the tension-er when installing the belt.
Thus the tension-er is on but not tightened down, the belt is routed properly around everything except the last pulley making sure there is no slack under the crank or extra belt teeth..... then use the allen wrench to release all tension, you have to hold this in that position and then the belt should just have enough clearance to just slide over the last pulley.
Then go back and set the tension properly and torque the tension-er bolt , with the spark plugs out I then hand crank the motor a few times check my timing marks and belt tension-er tension. Something always needs readjusting :)
