I finally finished the engine swap and the 850's running great. I'm happy to report there is no longer any smoke coming from anywhere on the engine. The used engine seems to be pretty sound, no blow by and the PCV system is working great.
I just took my time and plugged along, I kept referring to Wheelsup's guide. The pictures were invaluable, much better and clearer than the Haynes manual.
I did snap the heater hose junction at the firewall when I was putting the engine back in, I didn't realize this until I started refilling the coolant system and heard the leak. I bypassed the heater core for now just to get it running. I think I'll just eliminate the junction at the firewall altogether, there are some wonderful threads in here on how to do it.
I'm getting a whine that fluctuates with engine rpm, at first I thought it might be the power steering pump but realized it is the serpentine belt idler pulley. I have one on order from eEuroparts, I should have it on tuesday and will install it immediately. I knew the alternator bearings were bad so I changed them while I had it out,
Really wanted to just thank you all for the help and encouragement in this endeavor. I'm really looking forward to driving my new car.
Matt
