Newish Highway Speed Limits

Well that was very nice of them to let you off with a warning. It would also be nice if they helped to limit the speeds on Rt 78 to less than 80mph. I think that's a very dangerous speed, not because people cant drive that fast but because some of them dont know how to drive safely at any speed even 55, and this endangers others too not just them even at the slower speeds so at 80 it's downright nasty.

It is often not the 'norm' that hurts, it's the non norm. You get people that make mistakes and at 55 that's very bad, so at 80 it's going to be even worse, much worse. Look at the accident the comedian Tracy Morgan was involved in. The truck driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel doing 65mph (in a 45mph zone) and the passengers in the car were all seriously injured and one was killed. If the truck had been doing 80, they'd all be dead today.
If the truck was operating normally it would have come to a stop or at least slowed down, but that's not how things work in life as there are always problems and that is when we need the speed limits.
Who cares if someone does 200mph if they never do anything wrong that causes an accident...but if they do something wrong or anyone else in their path does something wrong, that's when the damage is done, and the faster the speed, the more damage is done.

A warning at 82 mph...LOL. In upstate NY and I think in MA, at 20-25 mph you get a 'driving to endanger' charge and they take you in.
