The short ones attach the plate to the frame and were even worse than the long ones. I had to grind one off when I did this job.

This would be a simple job If all the bolts come out & I can get to the long bolt above the exhaust. And do it without jacking it up. But I think I'll just have to hand the parts to the mechanic, just tin case.

I just harvested two brackets and long bolts of the parts 1998. My job went fine replacing these, one bad bolt required grinding off, the bolt on the bracket, not the long bolt

I am also planning to replace the bumper brackets for my 95 850 sedan and have begun sourcing parts.
After some research it seems there are differences between parts for the sedan and wagon.
It looks like the wagon uses the same bracket for both left and right sides but does the sedan?
Or does the brackets for sedan come in left and right versions.
Also does the sedan use the same bolt used in the wagon M10-130 or is it M10-150?

Fastenal has the long bolts (If the thread pitch is correct at 1.5!) as SKU 39147 for M10 x 1.5 x 130 Grade is 8.8. You will need to confirm the thread pitch and compare price to McMaster Carr. This is a plain, uncoated finish. Others may be available with corrosion protection.

I have a whole bunch of nuts/bolts for FRONT bumper from a 1998 S70.
I wonder if they are similar.
I can send them to whoever wants them.

Tascaparts.com had the OEM bolts in stock a couple of years ago when I bought mine. You could check with them. I found at the time it was best to call. Tel # is on their site. The clerk was very helpful.
I bought the brackets for both 96 850's and the right side only for the 93 (left side no longer available for the 93) and all the bolts. I've done one 96 wagon, took a sawzall to the end of the pipe to get at the left side long bolt. The short bolts came out pretty easily on both sides.
I actually had added the extension that was in the way a couple of years earlier b/c the stock pipe was too short and exhaust fumes were wafting into the cabin. I'm wondering if the exhaust system had been replaced with pipes spec'd for a sedan. My other 96 wagon had the same short pipe. Autozone sells a coupling to reinstall the section I trimmed off. The end piece and coupling can then be slipped back together with a little JB Weld.

Interesting side topic on the rivets. That should probably be a separate post.
Has anybody tried these?

A recent order for the bolts from McMaster Carr ( M10 x 130mm, course thread) were too large!
