Bought some oil today!

Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.

1992 - 1997 850, including 850 R, 850 T-5R, 850 T-5, 850 GLT

Since I know for a fact I'm not smarter than the building full of engineers that designed these motors, I use what the owners manual calls out.
And if the outside temp gets anywhere near minus (F) numbers, both the car and I am staying inside.

The detergent package in the earlier synthetics softened the headgasket material. Most head gaskets will have some form of metal reinforcement around the cylinder so it never leaks there but almost always out. No combustion pressure so no blown headgasket.
