I excise the number 666 from the Forum with a shot of Seafoam into the intake manifold ....

That looks like New England! Along Appalachian range.P80GLT wrote: ↑26 Dec 2023, 10:41 A most uneventful Christmas trip in the V70 this year, yes the wind was blowing a hooley as we drove north of Spean Bridge without incident as the car took it all in its stride on 23rd. Then to the 24th I went for a drive to Glen Nevis and Glenfinnan to get me out the house for a break...

2008 S60 2.5T got a fresh oil change (5000 OCI) and transmission drain and fill with Valvoline HiMi Synthetic ATF as that’s what I’ve ran in that car historically. ATF looking good based on color—last drain and fill was 20k ago. 164,000 miles and running solid.
Last week the kids 2002 S60 2.4T got an oil change also at 190,500. 5000 mile interval oil was filthy for my liking, will go 3000 on next one. This engine while running well has been historically dirty/sludgy…cleaned it up a lot since I bought it at 150k for $1500.
Both got Quaker State High Mileage Full Synthetic and STP High Mileage Oil Treatment.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

2006 XC70 (190k), after replacing a noisy serpentine belt tensioner a couple weeks ago, I detected a new noise. It was a rhythmic humming noise that would go away if I turned the car one way to load and unload the front tires. I replaced my front left wheel bearing and noise is gone.
1. Jacked up front end of car, both sides.
2. Removed Brake Caliper. And placed on a small stool.
3. Removed upper stabilizer bolt.
4. Removed both strut mounting bolts.
5. Removed axel bolt.
6.Removed ABS sensor and moved to the side.
7. Pulled wheel hub away from front strut while pushing axel out of the hub. Bungee'd up the axel to keep out of way.
Use caution when doing this so you don't damage CV joint rubber boot. Hard not to hit it!
8. Turning steering wheel, got better access to wheel bearing bolts and removed them.
9. Cleaned hub bearing recess surfaces and installed a new bearing. Reassembled and noise is gone.
Just wanted to add that I recently had a super loud rear end noise (the car) that would not go away by turning the car and loading/unloading the wheels. I indeed was the rear wheel bearing. It just didn't behave like the front one.
