They're no longer offered on Amazon and are manufactured in Taiwan. They have glass outers - not plastic. The amount of light I now get at night is freaking amazing. It's not quite as bright as HID, but it is more than ample. They felt like they weigh more than the OEMs that were removed.
Do these lights feature a ECE-mark? The only lights I had found for the V70 of my wife were the ones with H1/H7 bulbs, Angel Eyes and - plastic outers. And from experience with other lights of this kind ('98 Ford Fiesta and 2002 Opel Zafira A), the manufacturing quality is not really overwhelming.
Confirmed: No ECE mark. I believe they use H11 bulbs.

Steve. I am 15 min. from Rich (Cuhfs) and had Friday off. Next time you're in the neighborhood check in. Who knows, we might all find ourselves at the Brew Pub. Plus, you could have checked out the new ride. Best, Evan

Swapped the snows onto the T5 at 198700 miles

I'm going to guess that I have about two years left of swapping tires in a driveway at 20 F

For some reason, I thought it'd be a good idea to perform some preventative maintenance on the '00 V70 at 183k miles and swap out the inner and outer tie rods on xmas eve. The temperature above freezing was helpful. I hadn't expected trouble accessing the Oetiker clamp holding on the boot, with no auto parts store open at 4 p.m. on xmas eve to buy a replacement.

Glad I opted for PM, as the inner tie rod joint was floppy, and the rubber on the outer tie rod was starting to crack.

In the meantime, I also changed a brake line and a sway end link with an AC Delco that had solid, cylindrical heads instead of the plastic cap opposite the bolt. It looked sturdy, hope it holds up.

I finished today, in 26-degree weather. Wheel alignment scheduled for tomorrow, and the new-to-me V70 will finally be drivable!

End links are one of those cases where some of the aftermarket parts are without a doubt preferable to OE. As the end link attaches between the sway bar and the strut it wouldn't be involved with intentional wheel breakaway during a partial/small overlap collision. I'm not sure the '98 is designed to break away like that in a collision, though. I'm pretty sure the P2s, and definitely the P3+newer SPAs are. That's part why they do so well in crash tests: the wheel breaks away instead of getting pushed into/collapsing the footwell area. In this case a more robust design on that end link wouldn't hurt a thing.

There is a ban on selling used engine oil so I see no point in going on

When I hit the next decade I'm going to start trading money for comfort you can only carry 16 liters of used oil to the next life, you know

The T5 took me to the airport this am, started in -5 , ran for 3 seconds , stalled. Started and held. About 3 minutes rolling at 30 to get heat into cabin.

You guys in Calgary are tough. We might see 0F once or twice a winter. I do love high pressure deep cold winter days though. Sunny and bright blue sky. Roads clear and dry. You can get a 15-30!minute outdoor job done with gloves and hat
