I will keep that in mind, thank you very much. That project is scheduled to start in the spring. One of the first things I need to rebuild is the entire throttle linkage system, which is worn out/ seized. If you have good parts for that I would like to talk to you at some point. But there will be a bunch more parts that I need for it.

If you know the parts you need, PM a list and I will try to check may part's condition when I visit my other yard. I think these will all interchange on W123 models diesels. I have 3 W123 diesels.
Or just wait until you get to the project. My cars aren't going anywhere.
Edited to correct W124 to W123.

After racking my brain to work out how to attach my wheel to the wall eBay had the answer in the shape of a single metal hook.

I ordered a hook on Monday and it arrived today

After test fitting it to the rim I decided to apply some Tesa Tape to the hook to prevent any marks on the rim

I can't keep any part of my life as clean and organized as your garage.

Owned my Audi for 10 years and I have to admit it required less repairs than the Volvo

Last week when I knew I was going to the Dundee dealership for the VOS meeting I ordered the infamous PCV banjo bolt as I didn't want mine to explode and kill the engine.

The original banjo bolts are a poor design where the pin can work loose allowing both the pin and ball to get through the inlet manifold into the combustion chamber

On the new bolt the pin is drilled and pressed into the body of the bolt, on the old bolt the pin is held in place by folding over the top piece of metal.

New left, old right

The cooling fan, boost hoses, serpentine belt, power steering pump and alternator all have to be moved out of the way to access the bolt which is directly above the alternator

I had an Audi for 10 years, then the engine blew up, spun the rod bearings. Not by my neglect. I swapped in a good used one in an unheated garage in the winter. I’ll never touch another one.

Your mileage may vary.

So I decided to have a look at what is inside the dreaded P2 banjo bolt and it's much worse than I expected
I was expecting a small ball bearing which in theory would/should seal the PCV when required, but when I removed the pin I discovered there is a huge 'valve' 'pintle' or whatever it is called that is capable of doing significant damage to the cylinder walls and valve seats. If your car has a banjo bolt under the inlet manifold please check and if it does not have a date above 2014 change it as soon as possible. Both the parts on the left of this picture can and will end up in your engine. Get them changed ASAP. The scary part was it never took much filing to remove the pin and the 'valve/pintle'
