Same here! But the more I studied them I realized the driver is sitting almost in the center of the car - the "passenger" seat is a token space to meet the GT rules. And the shifter is on the right sill like it's supposed to be!

Alfa Romeo 1600 Spider "Duetto"
Pininfarina design - It's said to be the last car Battista Farina designed himself before he died. They only built these in 1966 & 67. Only sold the '67 in the US. There were no 1968 Alfas in the US. In 1969, the very similar looking 1750 Spider came out with a SPICA fuel injected 1750. The '67 had dual Weber carbs.

That's a beauty !! The tires almost seem oversized, but I like it. At 4.0L, the pistons must be tinnie tiny if there are 12 of them. Like less than 2" dia. And I wonder what the deal is with twin oil filters ? Is the engine set up like two in-line 6cyl side by side ?
Thanks for these continuing pics !!

Those 12s were all like that - extra oil capacity and filtering. Originally those were orange FRAMs, which seems kind of bizarre now, doesn't it.
I looked it up - 4000cc / 12 = 333.33cc per cylinder. This is where the names of Ferrari models originated - the displacement per cylinder, hence 330 GTC.
3.967cc or 242CI, producing 296 hp, pretty decent.
Oversquare 77mm bore / 71mm stroke / 94mm bore spacing for future expansion.
Engineer Colombo designed Alfa Romeo engines when Enzo Ferrari was the racing team manager there.

This company will build you a new one from scratch...as a spare so you don't wear our your original...y'know.
Lets get together and put one in a 122!

Of course just a bit out of my price range. I do however have an original 289 that might suffice. I could see that as being a hoot to drive.

Not sure I could afford one exhaust valve on those engines!
A 289 will do nicely!
