I'm interested to see where the extra length comes from, and if it's anything beyond just slightly longer trailing arms.
Finding out if the arb mounts are the same should eliminate some options, so win win!

I didn't have a good measuring tool but I found the difference between the two, seems like they added the inch to each side between the spindle/brake bracket and the end of the trailing arm, basically extended the hub out. If you look at the two photos you'll see how they did it. Top photo is the c70 unit on my car, bottom photo is the original.

I can confirm that rolling fenders is necessary, I couldnt find anyone who could do it anytime soon for less than $150 so I just hammered the suckers up a little bit. I have to do some fender painting anyway so I didn't mind. I'm only running 15in wheels so the rub was minimal, meaning it didn't need a full on roll.

Edit: Still getting some rub, so a full proper roll might be called for

Top stuff, thanks. That would suggest that the mounts for the arb are the same and after many years I can finally fit one to my 850!

Yeah, looks like they just welded on some extra material at the hub. Easy enough!

Nice! Glad it helps. Only thing I'll add if you might have to cut back some of the plastic wheel wheel cover. My diy hammer fender roll seems to eliminate most the rub but the wheel well covers are still touching on bumps with people in the back. Not sure how different a 850 and s70 are back there, so maybe it's a little different.

I'm not gonna lie I really enjoy driving it with the new track width so I'd consider it an upgrade.

850 and C/S/V70 rear liners are different (surprisingly), with the 850 having different mounting locations and being slightly taller. They both have the same width though, so you're probably spot on in saying some clearancing would be required.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! I like to see more people doing upgrades like this. It clears up a lot of questions about these types of things.

At 0800 I was loading bookcases from storage building in back of V70 and missed your breakfast call. Fortunately, I had a bagel about 0630. All times are local DST.
