If the timing belt failed and there was interference, then what you will find when you pull the head is bent valves, maybe piston damage but as Lee said that is unlikely. Is that what you are asking now?
But if the only symptom was "the engine stalled" then I would slow way down, do some investigation before pulling the head.
Why is the belt loose?
How loose - do you mean it is completely off, or just loose?
How far off is the timing right now?
When the engine stalled, did it make clattering sounds?
If there was no awful noise, then the first thing i would do is re-set the timing and start it up. I'd do that anyway, at the very least. You aren't going to make it any worse. See if it runs; if it does then check compression. If it doesn't, or if it sounds bad, then move on to deciding if you want to fix it in which case you pull the head.

Yes, the tensioner or idler pulley failed. The belt is loose. The engine stalled when this happened obviously. Car is a T5 5 speed. I just listed it in the classifieds. There is valve damage I assume, but have not pulled the head. If no takers, I will pull the head, asses and rebuild. I was just trying to get an idea of what to expect.
