Aux In for V70

Post by cosmicdust »

Does anybody know a way to simply make an AUX in for an SC-816 Radio/Cassette/CD?

I don't have an iPod, I just want a 3.5mm line in, or a pair of RCA inputs.

I'd like to know if Jollyeskimo has a copy of the schematic from the guy at volvospeed. It would be very helpful for people using aux in.
The problem is in fact the use of the cd charger input. The radio will show EEEE if the device is not present. Otherwise, the input is easy to get to on the back of the radio(DIN).

OK, I see, the pic12f629 is a programmable chip and we need this to simulate the cd charger. So,every body ,don't loose your time trying to build it unless you have a pic programmer and the program or buy it from the guy at volvospeed.
Thank you Jollyeskimo for your help.

I have a neo ipod interface for sale if anyone is interested...works with 815 and 816 radios. Same thing you'd order from mp3mycar.

Is there a difference between the FM Modulator and a CD cassette adapter? I currently use the Cassette option.

Is there a way to plug into the RCA's out like plugging into a home stereo 2 into 1 or does Volvo use a funky cable? I never opened up the back of the stereo.

Big diff. between FM and straight cassette.
1. FM is worst sound
2. Tape is better but still not great sound
3. Direct connect is always better and best sound.

www.volvospeed.com message board Audio/Video section has several adapters, some that have been home made to input with RCA cables into the Volvo head unit.

OK, I ordered a pic12f629 from Drlava and I made my own adapter.Cost me around 20$ CAD :) Great sound!!
One thing tough, the schematic that Jollyeskimo provided is not good. The supplies are inverted and the pinout to the head unit is not the same as the mini-DIN 8 pins. So be aware before ordering it, anyway Drlava should correct it soon.

I've been using a tape adapter for my mp3 player for years, but my tape deck just finally decided to die.

I'm looking for the absolute cheapest way to simply get a 3.5mm input jack hooked up to my stereo (not sure which model it is). What is the easiest way to do this? I've seen the BlitzSafe adapters, but those are expensive and specifically for iPods (which I dont' have).

Any reccomendations would be very helpful!
