This is on the the stock motor which has never been apart, and might need 1/2 a quart in the 5-6k mile interval between oil changes. I currently run Mobil 1 0W40 because Walmart started carrying it in 5 quart jugs, plus a little Mobil 1 10W30 or 10W40 (based on what I have on hand) because 5 quarts is never quite enough at oil change time. I use the same thing for top off if needed.
Here's a pic from June 9 when I was checking fuel economy. This is flat cruising in FL on my 205/55R16 Conti DW's with a driveway front zero-toe alignment and 230 kPa/210 kPa F/R tire pressure (about 33/30 psi). As tire diameter is slightly larger than the 205/50R16 stockers, the speed is a few percent higher than indicated, as is the mpg.
Not too shabby IMO. As I have mentioned before, I swear the Simons exhaust added about 1.5 mpg around town, so it probably helped a bit on the highway also. A newer car would eliminate some of the tinkering, at least until it got old!
The way this car was built it seems like it can be run virtually forever (if properly maintained) if the owner didn't get tired of it, and avoided bad wrecks.
