Thanks for the info, sleddriver!

I searched a little on the forum and saw reference to the intake cam seal weep hole located just below the distributor cap. This sounds like a likely culprit for the oil leak I noticed yesterday.

The exhaust cam seal looks dry/leak free, so it's possible the PO replaced that seal but not the intake cam seal.

Incidentally, I rechecked the glove test after doing the PVC service and the glove still blows out. I suspect the PTC valve ports are clogged up and likely causing the issue. Could be that remaining crankcase pressure did in the intake cam seal.

Wow...that's frustrating after all the work. However, I'm surprised to hear you didn't pull the air intake to verify! That is indeed a must-do as ALL vacuum comes from that point.

BTW, there is no "valve" there. It's a simple metal tube with a heater on it to minimize oil/crud build-up over time. I used a .22 cal brass bore brush on mine if I recall and a .12 ga. brush on the engine ports.

Something is still amiss in your system!

Please use good seals, Volvo is what I always reach for. Just about ever other seal will leak between 90 days to 3 years.

I recommend you do a compression test. Also, the glove test should be done with the engine hot. A cold engine can give you a false positive.

Good to know! I don't believe I checked it hot so I'll test it again once it is warmed up.

I will also clean the ptc port for good measure.
