Thanks for the link. I think I found the right diagram, but it's not giving a functional pinout of the sensors. I might be able to go off the wire colors on the sensor side anyway.

I borrowed a friend's scanner, he also showed nothing for the LTFT or the O2#1. So odd. Is this a Volvo thing? Am I going to need DICE and VADIS just to get the basics here?

On another note, the miss was consistent from a cold start this time. It seems as though coil#1 has gone kaput on me as well. I hope this car doesn't start nickel and diming me to death.

Well I unplugged the #1 injector corresponding to the #1 coil that was misfiring. The whole fuel system seemed to behave a little better this way. I upgraded to Torque Pro, and am now at least getting a number for the LTFT (though I haven't seen it change yet, and it's only -0.73%). I'll keep an eye on that and see if it seems to work properly. I think not getting all the unburnt fuel showing up at the O2 sensors was probably helping the car run better. I still can't get a reading for O2#1! I do see the "Torque Scan" option now, however. It's a lot more useful than Torque Lite; I recommend that everyone upgrade if they haven't. It's well worth the $5.

I went ahead and replaced the #1 coil, and let the car go through a few warm-up cycles. It runs and drives like a dream! I'm really digging this car! The plan has always been to fix it up and sell it, but maybe I'll keep it. I'll see what kind of mileage it gets and go from there. Maybe I can find an S40 in good shape for a decent price.

Thank you all for letting me bounce ideas off you, and for lending your advice.

-0.73% is fine. Within +/- 1% is optimal.
Torque is definitely worth the $5! I got it a while back and it's very helpful.

Glad to hear you got it running right again!

I'm glad to announce that it's running, too!

Except now, one of the headlight wipers got stuck. Looks like I'll be tearing it open and fussing with the PTC resistor/breaker.
