Drive the last leg home of the December “Master and Commsnder” trip around the world ftom EWR back home.
Bit of traffic and a sore knee but she rolled like a champ back to family and late tea.
What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Btw. Another thing that has never been suggested is the following. When you remove the drain plug from the transmission, the filter is actually visible though at an angle. Specifically the part circled in red.

It may be possible where I've marked in red to drill a very very tiny hole(starting from a 4mm to max 6) actually its more of grinding of the lower lip to create enough room to fit a small flexible hose to blow away the dirt inside.
The only caveat I see is that if for some reason whilst the transmission is working hard, and there is not enough oil in the sump, that in some instances the transmission pump may lose oil pressure. This can be mitigated by having a tiny bit more oil inside.
In any case this is only a thought. But it sure beats the idea of drilling bellow the filter.

Hello Volvorines,
long time no hear! I hope you're doing well.
Here are some updates:
around mid September, i found the liftgate window of my beloved Longnose elk to be broken!
The poor thing was covered with its rain cover and parked in the private back yard of the multi unit building. No witnesses. I called the Police who came by to take some photos, took my statement, and i filed a complaint against an unknown person.
But the real Odyssey started when tried to get a new window. This thing wasn't available anywhere! Not even at the Volvo dealer. What a nightmare.
fortunately, my Volvo specialist knew somebody who knew somebody who... well, he was a window specialist and had a window for me. After two weeks of searching and hoping, the window was replaced within an hour.
Just in time, as we finally bought... a house!
Needless to say, that since we received the keys after another loooooooong two months Odyssey of waiting and bureaucracy, the longnose elk revealed his superpower as moving truck.
I'm surprised how much this beauty can load.
combined with my Tetris skills, it's a pleasure.
All in all, I'm happy as I can be. I wish all of you a merry season and safe travels.

CEL came on 150 miles into a 220 mile trip. P0420 code. I bought Rislone Cat Complete to clean up the exhaust. Dumped it in the tank when I got it down to half full. Did a 50 mile trip and unhooked the battery to clear the code when I got home. I'm skeptical it will work but time will tell.

Installed some Skandix mudflaps since the Volvo ones are NLA. Im pretty impressed with the quality and fit of these, having installed the Volvo brand ones on my last XC. Also had the rear bumper off in a failed attempt to fix my parking sensors. I'll have another attempt at it when I install the trailer hitch in the spring and have to take the bumper off again.
