That Sonic is a nice car. Even has the front 4C done recently. I'm not commenting on the sale price.

Ya, but it's the 6-speed auto. I'd love to have an 06-07 with the 6 speed. Don't much care for the blue ones myself.
It might take a little while but it will sell at this price. Be interesting to see what the underside looks like.

The TF80 is a good trans, I like it in our XC90 V8, but it's still not an M66. I couldn't stomach the thought of having a car like that with an automatic. I love the color, but I would prefer it with Atacama or Nordkap interior. Not a fan of Gobi.

As for the price, I have no doubt the seller will get close to, if not his asking price. P2 V70Rs are grossly overpriced... I've seen them upwards of $20k. Why? Who knows... probably "Youtube syndrome" or the BaT effect... people hear another person say that a car is cool, then they want one and drive the price through the roof.
But to ask the high end of the price range with an auto trans? Just doesn't seem right.

I think I just coined those terms myself

I completely agree with all your points, (except color). I'd just like to have a 6-speed auto VR, to see if all the talk is true about them being almost equivalent to the M66 performance wise. No, I would never pay what the seller is asking. But someone will, that's all I was saying. Sometimes it's nice to not shift. Plus it'd be a nice way to not have your wife burning the clutch on the M66

I think I'd be tickled to see mine spur a bidding frenzy like has been witnessed with these recently.
I'll never sell mine, but if I did, I would probably laugh if someone offered me less than $10k for it.

Gobi seats would be an awesome addition to to a standard V70 or XC70, but I really don't care for it in a VR. Wouldn't stop me from buying one with it though.

It's a chore sometimes/often. I drop off/pick up my kid from his school, so rush hours in an urban environment. I have a manual turbo wagon (Alltrack). I long for an auto at these times. Really. Then there are the other times when the traffic is more clear, and it's lots of fun to rip up and down the gears.

It's fun to drive an oddity. I like it in this age of 90% monochrome auto/CVT SUV/CUV ownership.

Seat color in the R P2s is important to me, somehow, even though I don't own one any longer. I had Gobi. Eh. Atacama or Nordcap next time.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

From a seller's perspective, it's nice to see your cars going up in value. I know I'd love to be able to sell my P80 V70R for those prices, but that'll never happen... people tend to ignore the P80 V70R. Even the 850R/T-5R gets more attention and tends to be more expensive. But as a buyer, it's annoying when something just becomes farther and farther out of reach... for me that car is an E39 M5. I'd prefer buying one that needs work anyway, but they're still obnoxiously expensive and they just keep going up.
Not that prices are astronomical yet for P2Rs, but they're going to get there. I can't help but laugh when I see someone asking $18k for a 15 year old Volvo!
That reminds me of the 72k mile 960 wagon that the guy on Facebook was selling for $18k... yeah, right!

I get that, though... sometimes an automatic daily driver can be nice. I didn't mind it much in my '98 GLT. Otherwise, since I've daily driven my M56 V70R, I can't say I'd go back to auto. Fortunately I live in a slightly more rural area, so traffic isn't terrible. Not to say there aren't busy times when it gets annoying, but to me the trade off of being on and off the clutch in traffic on the highway every now and again is worth it for being able to bang through the gears the rest of the time. Can't get a perfect downshift in an auto!

Now for my next ambitious project, M66 swapping an XC90 V8 Sport!

8k for a red 245, apparently the airbags make it rare?
