I made the mistake of going to the oil change shop near my parents’ house a few years ago, and they must’ve used an impact wrench on the oil drain bolt because it wouldn’t come off and required a trip to the nearest mechanic. The bolt eventually came off, but the threads must’ve been warped in the process because now it has a permanent leak. I’ve tried different bolts, gaskets and even black RTV with no luck.

Been there! My cousin had a really nice 99 S70 NA a couple years ago, and they drain plug was on there REAL good. We ended up skipping that oil change and he sold the car not long after. Looking back, I don’t know why we didn’t just hang a big breaker bar on there with an extractor socket. We both had far less tools at the time lol.

My brother’s S60 has a permanent leak from the drain plug too, and it’s incredibly annoying. New crush washer every time, still drips very slowly. The previous owner had it maintained at the Firestone up the street from me (AWFUL place... don’t even get me started...) so that’s all I really need to know on why that’s happening!

It’s the worst. I literally haven’t done that even though I started changing my own oil when I was 16. How are these places still in business?

Today I fixed a loose rear-view mirror and washed the T5 for the first time. Not bad!

Man I love that color! By far the best P80 color!

Well, that and saffron. And laser blue. And sandstone... yeah, I'm one of the weirdos who loves sandstone XCs!

Came upon this in a 240 today at the junkyard. Pretty cool! Even has the salesman’s business card still stapled to it.
