Just a quick question here: what is the 7-ZIP command to stitch these files together?
I have each of them downloaded, but I am unsure now what to do to get them put togther as one image file.

I have 7-ZIp installed, I have never used it before, so what is this command to give it when I want
to put the files (stitch the files together) into one large file.

Any help apprecciated.

IIRC you don't need to stitch them first - just unzip one & it picks up the rest. I'm going 100% by memory though...

You mean download them all. Then start to unzip the first one and it will unpack, bringing in the other and unpacking them and stitching them together. In the end the whole package is together as one 14 GB file?

Okay, on this system one just puts the 7 files together. I do not need to install VIDA / DiCE 2013 since VIDA / DiCE is already on this one. It is VIDA / DiCE 2012.

Is this correct?

Any help appreciated.

Vida is software. Dice is that box that interfaces.

Once the files are stitched together it creates a folder directory on your Win 7 computer. Inside that directory is a VM Ware image file.

NOW install VM Ware Player on your Win 7 OS (Google it and download it) and once installed, point it to the folder directory.

The XP image with Vida already installed will open. Plug the Dice interface box in and it will recognise and install the driver in the XP image.

Does Vida have to be run from a laptop while Dice is connected to car or can it be run later inside house on a desktop?

No actually you don't have to have Dice connected at all. You can run all the parts and info searches you like without Dice connected.

The main thing I want Dice/Vida for is to reprogram key fob for my 2003 S40, I guess what I meant are they independent of each other or should they be used in tandem.

As an example, my Forerunner can be synced with my PC at any time, can Dice as well or should it be run together in car?

There are software part numbers which enable certain programming operations. As all of the images and DVDs for sale cheaply are unlicensed, they can't connect to Volvo's servers for the purpose of purchasing these part number downloads. For this you require a subscription tto the software which you can purchase from http://www.volvotechinfo.com

Just registered to thanks the OP for posting

This worked first time for me and saved a huge amount of messing around and time

So.....
1. Download each if the zipped files to a sub directory on your hard drive
2. Google 7zip and download and install
3. Use 7zip to extract the vmware file to another new directory
4. Use Google to find and download the free edition of vmware and install it
5. Reboot
6. Open vmware and open the vmware file created by 7zip
7. You should now have a windows xp client which yiur vida dice and communicate with
