Sorry to hear you have had another automotive misfortune. I am normally very cautious of cars that have obviously been abused. There may be other damage you can't see. Years ago, I bought a 940 from a local salvage yard that I thought I could get running. I did not know when I purchased, but it also had a bad head gasket. I later sold it for parts.CIK7 wrote: ↑12 May 2021, 20:14 How lovely! Nearly $760 in parts and over 2 weeks of hard work nearly in the crapper. What did I do to my GT today? Blew a head gasket. Why? Because i used a semi-generic coolant thermostat. Going to buy a new thermostat and baby this car. Going to save my money to buy a post-88 740 wagon, 94-95 940, or 03-05 Honda civic before I go blowing money on a head rebuild. I still like the car. Going to keep it. As a matter of fact, Im going to record a feature and walk through video tomorrow.
