You win! Renault Fuego. Look at those overhangs! Very normal for that era however.

I believe these were one-offs, right out of the museum.

Black one is the Buick "Y Job" from 1938, the auto industry's first "concept car" to show off ideas or capabilities. Designed by the legendary Harley Earl. Straight 8, 17 and a half feet long. Per the Wiki: "The "Y" designation was selected by Earl because it was used extensively in the aviation industry denoting the most advanced prototypes."

The silver-blue one is the 1951 GM le Sabre concept car. Another Harley Earl design. He ran things at GM for a long time. "The design was Earl's attempt to incorporate the look of modern jet fighter aircraft into automotive design" and a follow-up to the Y Job. It had a GM 215 supercharged aluminum V8 (not the same 215 as the later Buick / Pontiac / Rover V8), a rear transaxle, and the body was made from aluminum, magnesium, and fiberglass. Earl continued to drive it on the street for two years.

It touted features such as the new 12 volt electrical system, heated seats, hidden headlights in the "jet intake," automatic power top with water sensor, and electric lifting jacks in the chassis.

These are very pretty. The Americana level of the silver one is off the chart and into the clouds.

BTW good job on your wheels! They look great.

Aren't they crazy? The black one has a bit of Chris Craft speedboat to it.

Thank you! (don't get too close!)
